Sweta Dalal
Behind Ira:kish is Sweta Dalal, a jewellery designer whose journey blends design expertise, industry experience, and a deep academic engagement with history and culture. An alumna of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), she graduated in 2008 and went on to work with celebrated names like Farah Khan Ali and Amrapali, Jaipur.
She further honed her skills with leading export houses in Gurgaon and Mumbai, gaining invaluable insights into global markets, production, and quality standards. Her passion for cultural narratives led her to pursue a Master's degree in History, deepening her understanding of heritage, symbolism, and storytelling.
Alongside her design practice, she is also an academician, teaching jewellery and accessory design to the next generation of creatives. Each piece embodies Sweta's vision of jewellery that is luxurious yet wearable, rooted in tradition yet alive with contemporary spirit.
Our Karigars – The Heart of Ira:kish
At Ira:kish, every jewel carries the warmth of human touch. Our karigars are not just artisans — they are guardians of traditions, preserving techniques that have been passed down for generations.
From the delicate art of enameling to the precision of stone setting, from the intricate layering of kundan and jadau to the finesse of metal casting and hand-finishing, their mastery turns vision into timeless adornment.
In a world filled with machine-made jewellery, Ira:kish chooses the path of the handcrafted. Handcrafted jewellery holds a depth and individuality that machines can never replicate — it has character, intention, and soul.
The Story & Meaning of Ira:kish
The name Ira:kish carries both a deeply personal bond and a cultural resonance. Conceived during one of the most transformative phases of her life, founder Sweta Dalal named the brand after her daughter — Ira:kish is, in fact, her daughter's name - Kishira lovingly spelt backwards.
In Sanskrit, Ira is another name for Goddess Sarasvatī, the goddess of wisdom, arts, and creativity — the divine flow of inspiration that nurtures imagination. Kish draws its meaning from Kishora, symbolising youth, freshness, and radiance.
Together, Ira:kish signifies: "Where divine creativity meets eternal radiance"
Thus, every piece of Ira:kish jewellery embodies both the intimacy of personal story and the timeless essence of heritage and artistry.
